Akuva InfoTech has now acquired a 6 foot radius FARO Platinum ScanArm for the scanning of physical parts. The machine incorporates both a hard probe and a laser scanner for contact or non-contact measurement activities. These can be used interchangeably as the situation may require. The scanner is capable of acquiring more than 19,000 points per second and has an accuracy of 50 microns. It is used to generate 3D point cloud data. This data can then be imported into our reverse engineering software, Rapidform, to create parametric solid models that can be exported into major CAD programs such as CATIA, Pro/E, Unigraphics, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
